Green Technology is a
maze full of pitfalls.
It's very easy
to want to do the right thing, put time, money and effort into what you
think is the right direction, only to find out you didn't really
accomplish anything. Many "Green Resources" want to you invest in
products/services/projects that really don't have any positive effect in
the long run (except on their pocketbooks)
We have a different approach, investing money into technology that helps
to reduce/slow/offset the damage each of us does is just the beginning
of what we do!
We
also help you get an overall idea of what your impact is on the
environment. We identify areas in your life
that show need for improvement and help you track and find potential ways to
help lessen your impact in those areas.
We show you the
"Impact stats" of the products you buy. When you buy IS certified
products you can simply plug their IS value into your Impact stats and
instantly see the difference you're making.
When we do
invest on other green businesses/products/services, we don't just go invest
nebulously and leave you out. We research and publish our findings and
let all impactstats.com members "VOTE"
to pick which new technologies we invest in.
We display our new
investment opportunities, all the details about the potential
investment, and YOU get a say in what we do and how we do
it. We track calculate and report on your overall impact to the
environment and anything you buy/invest in on this site is automatically
added to your impactstats. Sure we don't have a lot of celebrities on our
web siite. We're not about celebrity or soundbytes. Let everyone else
throw their talking points and made up numbers around, we measure our
impact, we try to negate it the best we can, and we try to provide
better new for ourselves and our children to do even more, that's the
best anyone can do.
Other sites give you quick "feel good" statistics based on a quick hit
formula, we show you the cold hard facts based on the long term of your
impact. As an example planting trees doesn't remove CO2, it just stores
it for a while and re-releases it upon decay all in one big lump sum,
yet some people would believe that it's gone forever once that tree
absorbs it and calculate "carbon offsets" that way.

We are currently evaluating and certifing products
with impact stats values.
Show your
customers that you take a responsible course when creating your products
and services by showing your impact stats. IS certification will show
your offset in all the areas we measure and give your products an
"overall value" rating as well. We will work with you to examine your
products, manufacturing, shipping, etc.. to show that your products are
reducing your companies impact and the impact of your customers on the
environment.
